Welcome From Dean Richard Warder

Welcome to the Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis.

Warder Here you will find the best of both worlds: a small college of about 1,000 students within a large, metropolitan research university.

Since 1966 the College of Engineering has developed a reputation for excellent classroom instruction and outstanding contributions to the engineering profession and our community. Our more than 7,500 alumni are making an impact worldwide, and you can read about some of their successes in Alumni Profiles.

Through nearly 60 dedicated faculty members with outstanding academic and professional credentials, the College offers a variety of graduate and undergraduate degree programs. All undergraduate programs, with the exception of the new biomedical engineering degree, are accredited by either the Engineering Accreditation Commission or the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc., the recognized U.S. accreditor of college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. Accreditation ensures the quality of the education our students receive, and this is important to job placement and the ability to compete for the best engineering jobs.

If you are searching for a place to obtain an exceptional education that will prepare you for the modern practice of engineering, please spend some time with us reviewing this site. You will learn about our nearly 20 degree programs, exciting activities and services. I hope you enjoy your visit and will come back often.
