Scholarships Awarded by the Herff College of Engineering

The College offers a variety of scholarships. While most of the available scholarships require students to be enrolled full-time in the College and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, there are a few exceptions. Scholarships for engineering students include:
Herff Engineering Scholarships, awarded to outstanding engineering students in the Herff College. Herff Engineering Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis with such items as cumulative GPA, GPA for previous semesters and classification considered in the award process. Each recipient is expected to earn a minimum GPA of 3.25 for each semester while the scholarship is in effect. In-state tuition is usually provided by the scholarship.
The Clarence and Mae Weiss Engineering Scholarship is awarded to an engineering student and may be renewed provided that adequate progress is made toward graduation.
Engineers' Club Proutt Memorial Scholarship recipients must be permanent residents of Shelby County, TN; must have graduated from a high school in Shelby County; and, must be enrolled in the Herff College of Engineering. Recipients must have and maintain full time status and good academic standing. Scholarship applicants must submit a scholarship application and two letters, one being a personal/character reference that confirms good moral character, and the other, an academic/professional reference. Annually, scholarship recipients will be expected to attend at least one meeting of the Engineers' Club and make a brief statement.

Other Scholarship Sources
Herff College of Engineering Alumni Association Chapter’s Book Scholarship will be awarding a scholarship to a current jonir or senior engineering student. Applications must be received by 12:00 Noon on Friday, April 27, 2012. Click here for the application.
Departmental scholarships are awarded by each academic department in the College. Requirements and qualifications for these scholarships will vary. Contact your departmental office for details and application procedures.
Freshmen entering the Herff College of Engineering may be considered for any of the scholarships awarded by the University's Undergraduate Scholarship Program. General scholarship programs are administered by the University.
