Biomaterials Day 2012 is on February 17

This one day event is being sponsored by the Society of Biomaterials (SFB) and the Student Event Allocation at the University of Memphis and will be hosted by the University of Memphis in conjunction with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Vanderbilt University. The event will be held on UoM campus at the FedEx Institute of Technology with the theme “Redefining the past, innovating the future of biomaterials research.”  The keynote speaker this year will be Dr. Buddy Ratner, Professor in the Department of Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington-Seattle. 

The day will include panel discussions from industry professionals and clinicians on the opportunities and challenges in biomaterials, oral and poster presentations by attendees, and opportunities for networking throughout the meeting and during the poster presentation/cocktail reception. This is a great opportunity to show off the excellent programs, research and biomaterials-based industry we have here in the mid-south region!

The deadline for submitting abstracts is February 10^th and registration for the conference will be closing on February 12^th. This conference is free to all students and faculty.
