Bizot Family Professorship in History

The Bizot Family Professorship in History is the first-ever permanent named professorship in the Department of History at the University of Memphis. The Bizot Family Professorship is due to the generosity of Emile Bizot, who graduated from Memphis State University in 1960 with a degree in History. Mr. Bizot is a retired financial adviser and a longtime member of the College of Arts & Sciences Dean's Advisory Board. He married Carole Morris in 1957 and their marriage of over 60 years produced two sons and four grandchildren. Dr. Aram Goudsouzian received the first professorship in 2020.
