The search box located in the upper-right corner of our pages can produce unexpected
results. If you choose to search the “Site,” the site is the entire University of
Memphis, not just the Department of History. “Hits” on our pages will be in there
somewhere, but there may be lots of links to other pages at the university. (The choice
of “People” allows you to search the university’s “white pages” directory to find
user names, office locations, and similar information about persons at the university.)
If you want to search only the pages of the Department of History, there are two ways
to do it. There is a search box labeled “Search History Site” at the bottom of the
left-side navigation menu on every page, and there is the form below — either of them
will limit the search to documents on the History site.

An alternative to regular search is our A to Z list, an alphabetical listing of the topics that are found on our Web pages.
