The four-part transportation leadership certification program will meet in the university setting and will offer a unique collaboration between university and industry professionals.  Each weekend class will concentrate on a different mode of transportation. The educational flow of each session will include a leadership workshop that focuses on an element of emotional intelligence, instruction and information about the individual mode, time for networking with participants, and field experience by touring area modal facilities. 

Participants will interact with industry experts and business professionals, learn from university professors and take “field trips” to see each mode in action. A few of the industry experts associated with this program are Vice President, Intermodal Services for CN Railway, Keith Reardon, former CEO of CN Railroad, Hunter Harrison, former COO of “K” Line Ocean Carrier, Ted Prince, Managing Director of Human Resources and Development at FedEx Trade Networks, Bill Willard, and president of Intermodal Cartage, Joel Henry.

The conversations and hands-on experience will allow participants to gain a basic knowledge of how the industry works. By understanding the interaction between the modes, participants can become successful employees, individuals and experts in their respective fields.
