Society of Female Transportation Professionals

The Society of Female Transportation Professionals serves as a networking organization for women in the tri-state area working in the transportation industry. 

The Society connects current and future transportation professionals through events, speakers and activities. We want to:

  • Educate women in the transportation field about industry standards and professional best practices
  • Create a network of support and collaboration by connecting female transportation professionals
  • Increase the awareness of opportunities available for women in the transportation field

Society of Female Transportation Professionals 

Mid-South Women in Transportation Panel and Networking Session: September 24

On September 24, 2013, the Society for Female Transportation Professionals hosted the Mid-South Women in Transportation Panel and Networking Session. The panel showcased the variety of opportunities available through transportation careers, highlighted challenges and successes of women in the Memphis area pursuing these fields, and provided an opportunity for networking amongst students, faculty and industry professionals focused in transportation. Girls Experiencing Engineering

GEE is a fast-paced, interactive summer program (structured in a series of one week, 20-hour intensive sessions) that seeks to instill young women with confidence, interest, and awareness of the wide array of career opportunities within science, technology, and engineering fields. This is achieved through hands-on, 'real world' project based curriculum and dynamic professional engineers serving as guest speakers in the program.
