The Executive in Residence program is an interdisciplinary event connecting industry leaders to University of Memphis engineering and business students.

During the one day event, the industry executive comes to the University of Memphis campus and participates in three different types of meetings.

1. The industry professional facilitates a large group open forum with the engineering and business students where he typically addresses ways of making an impact in the business world.
2. The executive meets with IFTI student and faculty researchers to discuss transportation industry trends and to provide transportation industry related career advice.  
3. The executive meets individually with four students to provide specific career and professional advice.
