Global Appalachian Summer Meeting
IFTI welcomed 40 members of the Appalachian Regional Commission to the University
of Memphis in June for their 2012 Global Appalachia Summer Meeting. Memphis is a meaningful
location for the meeting as it serves as a key Appalachian highway and intermodal
rail gateway to the west and then on to and from key Asian markets.
Tennessee ETAC representative, Will Alexander, hosted the meeting. IFTI coordinated
the meeting logistics. The working meetings took place on the University of Memphis
campus in the Herff College of Engineering Executive Training Center. While in Memphis,
in addition to the meetings, the group participated in a FedEx Night Sort tour. Read the Press Release.
