A number of Graduate Assistantships (GA’s) are available to qualified students based
upon academic merit. Available assistantships vary from year to year. IMBA GA’s are
assigned 20 hours of work per week for each semester (excluding summer). GA’s normally work with a professor or international organization which provides
an opportunity to build relationships with faculty and/or work on research projects.
The assistantships provide a great financial benefit to IMBA students, including:
(1) FCBE tuition waiver during the academic year and (2) a monthly stipend for eight
months of the year. The award of Graduate Assistantships is considered as part of
the admission process. There is no separate application form for an Assistantship.
In 2008 Mr. Chen committed to donate $250,000 to the International MBA program. This
has enabled the program to offer significant number of assistantships to its students
thereby attracting very good students to the program. While making his donation, Mr.
Chen expressed his desire to see the program be successful at the national and international
level. Besides the donation, Mr. Chen has been a strong supporter of the program and
frequently meets with the students to share his knowledge with them.
