Memphis In May Scholarship

The Memphis in May organization, and the IgS program, are pleased to be able to offer the Annual Memphis In May International and Global Studies Scholarship.

Scholarship recipients shall be students majoring in International and Global Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. Full-time status (12 or more credit hours) must also be maintained. Preference will be given to students of Memphis and Shelby County with a record of academic success and past and present involvement in the Memphis community through service and outreach.

The scholarship amount is $1000 for one academic year, which can be used to offset either academic expenses or funding a study abroad experience (subject to approval by the IGS Directors).

Application for the Memphis In May International Studies Scholarship is made through the Tiger Scholarship Manager program which is accessible through the University student portal or by visiting the Scholarship Office web site: www.memphis.edu/scholarships/ and clicking on the Tiger Scholarship Manager tab at the top of the page. The application period typically begins in mid-November and runs through the end of January. Exact dates are provided on the scholarship web site. Award decisions are typically made in April for the next academic year.

Scholarships for Study Abroad

The University of Memphis Study Abroad Scholarship is available for full-time graduate and undergraduate students at The University of Memphis. Undergraduate students must have completed 45 semester hours and have a minimum 2.75 GPA. Graduate students must have completed 6 semester hours and be in good academic standing. In addition to the UofM Study Abroad Scholarship, there are various institutional and external scholarships students may be eligible to apply for.
