One of Sajjad’s most outstanding contributions to the University was the cultivation and mentoring of Information Technology (IT) student workers throughout his tenure at the U of M.  In fact, many of our current, full-time IT employees began their careers as one of Sajjad’s student workers.  As a way to honor Sajjad’s work with student employees over these many years, the Information Technology Division will establish the “Sajjad Mahmood – Outstanding Information Technology Student Worker Award.”   This annual award will be presented to an Information Technology student worker that has demonstrated outstanding customer service, a keen work ethic and sound technical skills; ideals that Sajjad valued from each of the student workers he mentored over the past thirty years.   If you would like to participate in supporting this award in Sajjad’s memory, you may make a contribution payable to the University of Memphis Foundation, Dept 238, UM Foundation, PO Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38148-0001, indicating that it is for Sajjad Mahmood.  You may also go online and make a gift with a credit card at https://www2.memphis.edu/giving/  and note online that the gift is a memorial to Sajjad.
