Meeting Minutes for April 11, 2006

Hi all,

We will resume monthly WebDev meetings today at 1:30 in 225 McWherter Library, and plan to meet regularly on the second Tuesday of each month. Since we have not met in several months, there will be a number of relatively brief status updates on major web projects and initiatives. We will plan on more in-depth presentations at future meetings. Items on the agenda include:

• Spectrum portal channel implementation
• UMdrive web page searches
• People web server deprecation
• Luminis content management system
• Proposed U of M web policy and guidelines
• Ultraseek search engine (search.memphis.edu)
• iAM website authentication
• Faculty CV and Web Profile application

Let me know if there are additional web projects or issues that you would like to report on.

Meeting:

Opening introductions of current and new members.

• Spectrum portal channel implementation
  Update on spectrum portal. Human Resources channel updates by Danny Linton, BFTech.
  Channels in spectrum discussed. Incorporating various types of channels; RSS, web pages, etc.
• UMdrive web page searches
  Not single sign on yet via the portal. Discussion of iAM continue discussion of single sign on accounts(shiboleth project) and updates of iAM. Shiboleth Project to use single-sign-on.
  
  Issues of robots.txt file on UMdrive that prevents search engines to index any UMdrive web pages.
• People web server deprecation
  Scheduled for Aug 1, 2006 movepeople.memphis.edu - application to incorporate moving account holders of "people" to the new UMdrive.
• Luminis content management system
  
• Proposed U of M web policy and guidelines
  Marketing/Communications - Alison Joyner-Masilak - draft of Web Policies for "Official" university web pages. Policy - more general; Guidelines - more specific, issues of image sizing, more presentable pages, etc.
  Affirmative Action verbage, etc.? Plans to incorporate single page.
