Memphis Law celebrates all graduates with three annual commencement ceremonies, in May, August, and December. (August and December commencements are held with the University’s main ceremony.) Graduating students will be contacted by the Registrar several months prior to the end of their last semester regarding graduation requirements and procedures, the bar examination, and the commencement ceremony.

Memphis Law is excited and proud to announce that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. will be the Class of 2013 Graduation Speaker. He will address the graduating class on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the Cannon Center in Downtown Memphis. Click HERE to read more about Mr. Kennedy.

Ceremony Time & Place

The Graduation Ceremony for the Law School will be held Sunday, May 12, at 3:00 p.m. at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts, 255 N. Main Street, Memphis.  There is no rehearsal.  You do, however, need to be at the facility by 2:00 p.m. on May 12.  You will assemble backstage in the room just off the stage.  In keeping with the formality and tradition of the ceremony, men usually wear dark dress trousers, a white shirt, a tie, socks, and dark shoes, while women usually wear dresses and dark shoes.   

Ceremony Seating

We will have general seating at graduation with the exception of several reserved front rows.  Your guests do not need to purchase tickets for graduation.

The law school will not have an official invitation, but students can order invitations through the University or on their own.
