Welcome Statement

Welcome to The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law OUTLAW organizational website! OUTLAW is an on-campus law school oriented student organization that focuses on gay, bisexual, lesbian, and trans-gendered legal issues.  This Gay-Straight Alliance promotes equality and civil rights while maintaining visibility in the Memphis legal community as a resource for the gay population. We encourage everyone to join this organization and welcome open minds to the sphere of sexuality and the law.

Mission Statement

OUTLAW exists to provide a forum for all persons – gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and heterosexual – to discuss and influence the legal community’s decisions and policies on matters of sexuality and sexual orientation. Active membership in OUTLAW is open to all students and faculty of The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. Members of the legal community – alumni, local attorneys, and judges –who wish to participate in OUTLAW activities may join as associate members. We encourage all to participate.
