The Memphis Leadership Fellows program is a year-long leadership development program
designed to prepare principals for school leadership nationwide. Program participants
are identified through a rigorous selection process from individuals who aspire to
be principals and currently hold a principal’s license. This “pathway" was established
to ensure that a pool of highly qualified leaders is available from which individuals
can be selected to assume positions in West Tennessee schools as principals. The Memphis
Leadership Fellows Program has a single, clear focus: to provide outstanding leaders
who promote high levels of academic achievement for all students in West Tennessee
schools. Candidates selected as one of the participants each year are known as Leadership
Fellows.
This innovative leadership development program contains the following components:
- Rigorous Recruitment and Selection
- Intensive Experiential Learning Orientation
