Support for the University Libraries can take a variety of forms. Those who are interested
can also donate time and become a library volunteer. There are many tasks that can
be undertaken by volunteers to contribute to the overall success of the University
Libraries. Depending on the skills and interests of the individuals, volunteers might
assist with activities such as giving tours, welcoming guests at library sponsored
events, shelving materials, staffing library information tables at various events
on campus or in the community, sorting gift collections, and other similar tasks.
Anyone interested in volunteering in the University Libraries is encouraged to first
talk with the Department Head for the area in which he/she wishes to work to get a clearer idea of specific volunteer
opportunities and to discuss scheduling possibilities. Training for volunteers will
be provided by University Libraries’ faculty and staff. To become a library volunteer
please complete the volunteer form and submit it to Mrs. Nancy Massey, Personnel Associate for the University Libraries.
