On Thursday, April 30, The University of Memphis M Club honored the senior class of 2009 with the Annual Senior Induction Luncheon. The M Club welcomed 52 undergraduate students and one graduate student who will all graduate on Saturday, May 9. The Tiger Athletic Department will be graduating their highest number of student-athletes ever with 53!

The luncheon was also an opportunity to recognize three special award winners in addition to each sport's graduates.  Benedikt Fischer of the Men's Tennis team earned the Male Scholar Athlete of the Year Award while Kate Murphy of the Women's Soccer team earned the Female Scholar Athlete of the Year Award.  Both will be graduating with a 4.0 GPA.

Maggie Leone of the Women's Soccer team was awarded the 2009 Elma Roane Award, the top award for female student-athletes.
