NATIONAL CIVIL RIGHTS MUSEUM
On Monday, January 19 (Martin Luther King Day), 10 of our student-athletes volunteered
their time at the National Civil Rights Museum. While there, the student-athletes
welcomed guests, sold merchandise, and guided people through the museum. On this day,
over 9,000 people visited the museum.
VALENTINE'S DAY BALL
On, Saturday, February 7, over 30 of our student-athletes visited the Wesley Highland
Terrace Retirement Home for a Valentine's Day Ball Celebration. This was a time for
our student-athletes to visit, talk, and get to know the residents a little better.
There was music, snacks, and a whole lot of good times.
Tiger Paws & Shining Stars
On Saturday, March 29, the student-athletes collaborated with UM Frosh Council to
host "Game Day: Tiger Paws & Shining Stars." The event was held at the Elma Roane
Fieldhouse. Children of all ages from the Memphis community came and spent an afternoon
of fun and games with the students. Student-athletes signed autographs and participated
in events such as face painting, basketball shootout, and track/field events.
READ TO SUCCEED:
On the first Friday of every month, student-athletes volunteer at the Barbara Lipman
School on the University of Memphis campus for the Read to Succeed program.
