The University of Memphis track and field squad completed competition in the 2009 C-USA Indoor Championships. Two men and a pair of women's competitors earned individual titles at the conference championship meet for the Tigers. The men's squad finished the meet in sixth-place in the team standings with 78 points while the women's squad finished in 5th place with a team score of 51 points. Steffan Nerdel earned the 2009 C-USA Indoor Championship Performance of the meet, while Inger Anne Froysedal earned the 2009 C-USA Indoor Freshman of the Year award.




The Tigers knocked down 11 three-point field goals and forced 20 Southern Missisissippi turnovers in a 77-74 overtime thriller in Hattiesburg Saturday night. Winchell led all players with 26 points. Leonard added 21 points while playing 40 of the game's 45 minutes. Ashley Thornton just missed a double-double, finishing with 11 points and 9 rebounds.
