Upcoming VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES for Student-Athletes
Our student-athletes know that being a Tiger means taking pride in giving back to
the community. By participating in Community Service, the student-athletes are given
a chance to interact with their supportive fans across the city of Memphis. This
aspect of the PAWS Program focuses on reaching out to the community and engaging locals
and student-athletes in a positive manner.

The University of Memphis PAWS Program strongly encourages each team to participate
in at least one community service event per year. That gives the student-athletes
a chance to reach out and help all four years at the university. These events are
scheduled within their individual sports, as part of Conference USA or through a scheduled
Student-Athlete Development event -- all of which benefit the Memphis community.Student-Athletes
are involved in a wide array of service projects including canned food drives, Up
'Til Dawn, Read to Succeed, Habitat for Humanity, and many others!

A Tiger Christmas
This year was the first annual A Tiger Christmas at the University of Memphis. The
student-athletes teamed up with the Athletic Department and raised money and sporting
equipment to donate to the kids at Youth Villages. The student-athletes also hosted
a group of boys from Youth Villages for A Tiger Christmas Evening. They spent the evening decorating cookies with the kids, touring the Penny Hardaway
Hall of Fame and giving the kids a special Memphis Tiger themed gift!
