Criteria and Guidelines for Nominations for the Barbara K. Lipman Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education
The recipient of this prestigious award will be a national or international early childhood education professional who has devoted his or her career to the profession and who has significantly influenced early childhood education through the following:
Eligibility Criteria
- Nominations are open to national and international early childhood education professionals who have significantly influenced early childhood education or child growth and development

Work should encompass children age birth to eight and may include (but are not limited to) investigations of:
- How children grow and learn
- Psychomotor development of young children
- Approaches to the teaching of young children
- Interventions for learning enhancement and environments
- Social influences on early childhood
- Early childhood teacher training
- Administration or leadership in early childhood education

Supporting Materials
- Brief statement of accomplishments in the field of early childhood education, significant contributions to the field, and a reflection on current trends and issues in the field.
- Resume or Curriculum vitae, including any major awards received
- Summary of publications in journals, books, book chapters, peer-reviewed articles, presentations, etc.
- Letters of recommendation from three sources (both internal and external to the organization for which the nominee is affiliated).
