U of M’s Fogelman Business College’s Online MBA Program Ranked Among Nation’s Best

For release: April 8, 2013
For press information, contact Curt Guenther, 901-678-2843

After evaluating online MBA programs from around the country, www.businessmba.org rated the U of M’s Fogelman College of Business and Economics’ online MBA as a “Best Value” (16th out of the top 25 in the country) and www.geteducated.com called the program a “Best Buy” (24th on its list of top programs).

According to the businessmba.org website, “Students at the nationally ranked Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis benefit from the school’s relationships with a number of major corporations and a commitment to nurturing new start-up companies.”

The site also noted that all the schools that were ranked were top-rated AACSB-accredited schools offering online MBA programs at relatively affordable costs.

Geteducated.com gave the U of M program a grade of B+ for affordability, an A for student satisfaction, and an overall grade of A-.

A respondent to the site’s survey noted, “Unlike all the other MBA programs on this website, this is the only one that does not require prerequisite classes before actually starting the program.  They also accept transfer credits from other AACSB-accredited schools.  Price-wise, this program is well within my budget.  Thank you, University of Memphis.”

“We are proud to be leading a significant national trend,” said Dr. Jasbir Dhaliwal, associate dean of the Fogelman College, “that is seeing business schools at state universities which are research-based and AACSB-accredited take back MBA market share from non-AACSB-accredited private players.  Prospective MBA students are seeking out quality programs like ours that are taught by research faculty who are at the cutting edge of their disciplines and who use sophisticated online learning tools and methods.”

The Fogelman College’s online MBA program has students currently enrolled from throughout Tennessee and from 20 other states.

The Fogelman College’s accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business puts it in a very select group.  Of the 13,000 business programs in the world, less than five percent are AACSB-accredited.
