The University of Memphis has been selected as one of The Commercial Appeal’s Top Workplaces. The Top Workplaces are determined solely on employee feedback from
a survey conducted by WorkplaceDynamics LLP, a leading research firm on organizational
health and employee engagement.
A total of 1,592 University of Memphis employees completed the survey. The questions
were in the areas of organizational health and the employee’s job, including their
work, their manager, and pay and benefits. The survey was about whether employees
feel connected and inspired, and are given the opportunity to do great things.
“We are excited about the University of Memphis’ nomination in The Commercial Appeal Top Workplaces for 2013,” said David Zettergren, vice president of Business and Finance.
“This is especially rewarding considering the nomination was based on the survey results
submitted by more than 1,500 of our faculty and staff. We very much acknowledge and
value our employees and strive to create a great workplace. This recognition confirms
that a majority of our employees agree.”
Maria Alam, assistant vice president and chief Human Resources officer, added, “I
am delighted that the University of Memphis has been named a Top Workplace employer.
This has been a goal of the HR Department ever since I arrived three years ago. This
recognition solidifies the commitment and dedication employees have toward our University,
and I am proud that our efforts and hard work have been recognized.”
