Linda Bonnin has been appointed vice president of Communications, Public Relations
and Marketing at the University of Memphis. She succeeds Bob Eoff who retired in
December 2011.
Bonnin has worked at the U of M since 1997 and has served as associate vice president
of Communications, Public Relations and Marketing since 1999. She was named interim
vice president last December.
Bonnin began her career as a newspaper journalist at the Memphis Press-Scimitar. She has also worked in communications and marketing positions for a variety of companies,
including First Tennessee Bank, Crye-Leike, ServiceMaster and the Shelby County Mayor’s
Office.
In making the announcement, University of Memphis President Shirley Raines noted that
Bonnin has recently built successful marketing and communications campaigns for both
student recruitment and advancement. She is also actively engaged in the U of M’s
strategic planning process and its enrollment and retention initiatives, and she is
co-chair of the University’s Centennial celebration.
A native Memphian, Bonnin is a graduate of Harding University in Searcy, Ark.
The Division of Communications, Public Relations and Marketing manages the university’s
internal and external communications, including media relations, marketing, advertising,
publications and special events.
