The University of Memphis has promoted Destin Tucker to assistant director of admissions
for recruitment in the Office of Recruitment and Orientation Services. Tucker had
been coordinator of orientation and special events since 2007. She first joined the
U of M as an admissions counselor after finishing graduate school.
This spring Tucker received the Outstanding Orientation Professional Award for Region
VI of the National Orientation Directors Association (NODA). She was recognized for
her active involvement not only on the U of M campus but also at the state level of
NODA, serving as a Tennessee state coordinator. She was instrumental in persuading
NODA to hold its 2013 Southern Regional Orientation Workshop at the University of
Memphis. The event will be the largest conference the University has ever held.
Tucker earned a bachelor of business administration degree from the U of M in 2004
and a master of science in college student personnel from the University of Tennessee
at Knoxville.
