AffordableCollegesOnline.org has ranked the University of Memphis 18th on its new
list of the nation’s “Most Affordable Online Colleges.” ACO identified 54 colleges
across the country with distance learning options, affordable tuition and fees, and
alumni who earn top dollar immediately after graduation.
The website compiled the list from data published by the federal government, the Carnegie
Foundation and other sources. Schools on the list are fully accredited, non-profit,
four-year, degree-granting colleges and universities. Criteria for selection include
a maximum cost of $15,000 (tuition and fees); students with an average starting salary
of at least $31,000 upon graduation; and at least one online or distance learning

the highest quality and impact. The University has been fully engaged in online learning
for decades and is committed to delivering a high quality, affordable and accessible
education to our students,” said Provost David Rudd.
“Today’s mobile economy demands the widespread availability of online education, and
many colleges are meeting that demand head-on,” added ACO founder Dan Schuessler.
“We’ve sifted through the most complete and comprehensive data sources to find the
colleges and universities offering low-cost, high quality distance learning options.”
