The University of Memphis Departments of Physics and Biological Sciences will host
an interdisciplinary workshop, “Understanding the Organization of the Intracellular
Region,” June 23 and 24 at the FedEx Institute of Technology.
The workshop will bring together leading scientists from various disciplines, including
biology, physics and engineering, to discuss the latest developments in studies of
the structural integration of the cytoplasm and nucleus.
Speakers will include Drs. Amy Rowat of UCLA, Helim Aranda-Espinoza of the University
of Maryland, Tina Lee of Carnegie-Mellon University, Sunil Kumar of the Indian Institute
of Technology-Madras, Irina Kaverina of Vanderbilt University, Ram Mahato of the University
of Tennessee Health Science Center, and Mohamed Laradji and Omar Skalli, both of the
University of Memphis.
