Julie Graves has been named director of development for the School of Public Health
at the University of Memphis.
Since 2010, Graves has been assistant director for the University’s Hooks Institute
for Social Change. Prior to joining the U of M, she worked for many years as community
development director for HealthCare USA in Kansas City, Mo. She has additional experience
with the National Kidney Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, and
the Missouri Department of Mental Health.
Graves is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Memphis and serves as an advisory board member
for the National Kidney Foundation of West Tennessee. She earned her BA in journalism
from Lincoln University and her master of public affairs from Park University in Parkville,
In her new role, Graves will work closely with the dean of the School of Public Health
to increase its visibility, and to maximize financial gift support to the institution
by seeking private contributions in order to increase the margin of excellence of
its educational and research programs.
