Dr. Lin Zhan, dean of the Loewenberg School of Nursing at the University of Memphis,
has been named one of the Top 100 Nursing Professors for 2012 by BSNtoMSN.org.
Professors are selected based on the academic rankings of represented nursing schools,
awards and recognitions the professors have earned, the quality and quantity of academic
publications associated with their work, recommendations from their peers, and student
reviews.
The list is compiled to bring recognition to skilled and respected professors and
assistant professors of nursing from across the country, with the hope that nursing
students will be inspired by the achievements of professionals in the field.
“I am humbled to be named one of the top 100 nursing professors in the USA for 2012,”
Zhan said. “This award brings honor to the U of M and LSON, as our wonderful nursing
faculty and staff work diligently each day to prepare our students – dreamers, thinkers,
and doers – to meet the ever-changing needs of health care.”
Zhan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. She has published more than 90
articles and several books. Her 2009 book Asian Americans Voices: Engaging, Empowering, Enabling has been used in a number of disciplines.
