U of M Will Host Cyber Security Expo Oct. 18

The University of Memphis’s Center for Information Assurance will host its sixth annual Cyber Security Expo Oct. 18 at the FedEx Institute of Technology. This year’s theme is “Cyber Espionage and IP Issues.” Experts will be on hand to discuss intellectual property (IP) thefts, advanced persistent threats, BYOD and mobile device security, cloud and big data security, social media threats and virtual supply chain security.

Speakers will include Abel Sanchez, executive director of the MIT Geospatial Data Center; Asif Iqbal, senior engineering program manager for Apple Corp.; Mark Burnette, partner in LBMC Security and Risk Services; Bill Gibbons, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security; Nageswara S. V. Rao of Oak Ridge National Laboratory; Philip T. Susmann of Norwich University Applied Research Institute; Christopher S. Oehmen, research scientist with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory; and Bob Du Charme, principal professional services consultant with Ixia BreakingPoint Professional Services.

There is a regular registration fee of $85, which includes all sessions, meals and refreshments. A discounted rate of $65 is available to U of M faculty, staff and students (with ID).
