Assistive Listening Devices
Assistive listening devices may be used independently or in conjunction with hearing aids to improve someone's ability to hear. These devices come in a variety of sizes, electronic sophistication, and applications. For example, they may help improve the ability to hear a television, to listen in a group setting, or to awaken someone who cannot hear an alarm clock. Once your hearing status has been determined by hearing tests, the Audiologist may recommend the use of assistive listening devices. Some of these devices are available at the Memphis Speech and Hearing Center for demonstration.
