A full range of speech and language diagnostic services is available for persons of
any age. Evaluations provide useful and specific information, especially to parents
and caregivers who are concerned that their child might have a communication or language
learning problem. Adults who are concerned about their own language skills or their
speech (articulation, fluency, and voice) also find the evaluations helpful and informative.
Following the evaluation, results and recommendations are explained and discussed.
An evaluation is necessary to determine if therapy is appropriate and the frequency
of the therapy schedule. Individuals who have recently been evaluated by a certified
speech-language pathologist may submit the reports and to be considered for admission
straight to therapy without repeating the testing.
Children under the age of 4 years will be scheduled for a full hearing evaluation
prior to the speech and language evaluation. If a recent hearing evaluation has been
completed, reports may be submitted for review by one of our audiologists. If the
information is current and complete, the child would then be scheduled for the speech
and language evaluation.
