Therapy for Young Children

Speech and Language therapy services are available for young children from eighteen months through age five who have moderate to severe speech and language disorders. Various programs are available for children who are slow to develop speech and language as well as those who have communication issues secondary to Autism Spectrum Disorders, mental handicapping conditions, or significant oral motor dysfunction. Therapy plans focus on the specific needs of each child and individualized goals are embedded into functional age-appropriate play. Activities emphasize the development of communication skills in an environment that also enhances pre-academic, motor, cognitive, personal-social, sensory, and emerging literary skills. Parents/caregivers are included in the therapeutic process.
