The Music Education-Choral degree program encompasses teacher-training studies in
vocal/general music. Vocal, piano and guitar students desiring to teach receive through
courses in general music and choral music methods. Students are exposed to various
teaching techniques, learning structures and school environments through a variety
of field experience opportunities (pre-school through secondary levels) structured
to develop the prospective teachers' ability to teach music effectively to every student—regardless
of age and ability. Students complete a a one year student teaching internship in
the public school during the senior year. The degree culminates in a Tennessee State
Licensure/Certification for public school K-12.
