Adults & Seniors

The Community Music School has several opportunities for adults and seniors.  Playing music is a great way to remain active both mentally and physically.  No experience is required.

In addition to private instruction, the Community Music School offers the following fun and exciting programs for adults and seniors.

NEW HORIZONS BAND

Thursday 1:00 - 2:30 pm (1/28 - 4/22/10)
Location:  Lane Music

The New Horizons Band offers adults and seniors the opportunity to play in a large band as well as smaller ensembles such as stage bands, Dixieland bands, orchestras and chamber music groups. Prior musical experience is not required.

The Community Music School’s New Horizons Band is affiliated with the New Horizons International Music Association that has over 100 bands, orchestras and choruses throughout the United States and Canada.

By joining a New Horizons program, you can fill your life with music, new friends, fun and accomplishment.

CLASS GUITAR

This class is designed for absolute beginners as well as those who need assistance in their development.  Class covers all popular/blues styles and techniques.

Open to anyone 15 years or older.

This piano lab class is exciting and fun for adults of all ages with little or no experience in piano.  Learn music reading, basic theory, ear training, piano technique and repertoire.

PLAY FOR FUN - CRASH COURSE

Saturday, March 20, 2010, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

This one-day class will include the basics of playing the piano/keyboard. It is perfect for the busy adult wanting to learn how to play the piano.  This concentrated workshop will include reading music, basic theory, right and left hand playing and much more.
