The City of Tomorrow collaborated with Schoenberg scholar Henk Guittart and Gruppo Montebello on a group of recordings by Second Viennese School composers at the Banff Centre in Alberta in December 2012. As a former member of the YOA Orchestra of the Americas, Ms. Blatchford has played under the batons of Valery Gergiev, Carlos Miguel Prieto, and Dante Anzollini, and with YOA toured Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, and throughout mainland China. As a mentor, Ms. Blatchford has traveled to Latin America and the Caribbean to coach chamber musicians and flutists. She has worked with musicians of the Filarmónica Joven de Colombia, NEOJIBA in Bahia, Brazil, and Traveling Notes in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. With the City of Tomorrow, Ms. Blatchford has given master classes in chamber music and flute playing to students at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Williams College, the University of Western Michigan, and Willamette University, among others.
