Audition days are held to determine admission into School of Music programs for Undergraduates
and Graduates. They are held to determine Undergraduate Talent-based/Performance Scholarships
and Graduate Assistantships. All undergraduate students who want to major or minor
in music or take applied lessons must audition. Visits to the School of Music and
University of Memphis are suggested. Early applications are highly encouraged.
To schedule an audition and apply for admission to a School of Music program, go to
APPLY NOW on the School of Music website. Log into DecisionDesk and make your application
to the School of Music. Start your application soon.
Live auditions are highly preferred. The School of Music will accept non-edited video
recorded auditions from international students who reside outside the United States.
The preferred deadline for recorded audition submission from international students
is December 1 and no later than January 1. Recorded auditions must include appropriate
repertoire listed in Audition Requirements. The Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music reserves
the right to require a live audition on campus if necessary.
Students who want to be a member of the Mighty Sound of the south and do not plan
to Major or Minor in music, may call 901-678-2263 to schedule a Marching Band Audition.
