September 22 University of Memphis (U of M) Campus Day. Go to recruitment.memphis.edu to register.
November 1 Submit your application to the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music (RESSOM) to audition
at: memphis.edu/music/future/forms.php. If you are auditioning for a RESSOM talent-based/performance scholarship, indicate
your interest on the audition application and request that two letters of recommendation
from professionals who know your musical ability and experience be mailed two weeks
prior to your audition to: Music Admissions, University of Memphis, Rudi E. Scheidt
School of Music, 129 Music Bldg, Memphis, TN 38152. Recommendations may be emailed
to kayyager@memphis.edu or you may bring them with you on your audition day.
November 1 Submit your application to the U of M online: memphis.edu/admissions/apply.php. Have
your high school and/or college mail official transcripts to: University of Memphis,
Office of Admissions, 101 Wilder Tower, Memphis, TN 38152. Have your ACT and/or SAT
test scores sent to the U of M Office of Admissions by the testing services. The U
of M accepts records of ACT and SAT exams that appear on official high school transcripts.
November 3 U of M Campus Day. Go to recruitment.memphis.edu to register.
December 1 Obtain a free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from your high school Guidance
Counselor or at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
December 1 RESSOM Audition/Orientation Day for Spring 2013 and Fall 2013 semesters. Admissions,
scholarship and assistantship auditions for undergraduate and graduate applicants.
January 1 Date for you to have applied to audition for the RESSOM and also to have applied to
the University of Memphis.
January 2 The FAFSA should be mailed to the Federal Processor by this date in order to ensure
maximum consideration for all financial aid programs for applicants accepted for the
fall term.
February 1 Deadline date for you to receive priority consideration for academic scholarship by
the U of M; high school seniors must have been admitted to the U of M by this date.
February 9 RESSOM Audition/Orientation Day for Fall 2013. Admissions, scholarship and assistantship
auditions for undergraduate and graduate applicants.
February 16 RESSOM Audition/Orientation Day for Fall 2013. Admissions, scholarship and assistantship
auditions for undergraduate and graduate applicants.
February 16 Honor Band Day – While auditions will be held for pre-registered Honor Band attendants
on this day, December 1 or February 9 or February 23 are preferred for Honor Band
students.
February 23 RESSOM Audition/Orientation Day for Fall 2013. Admissions, scholarship and assistantship
auditions for undergraduate and graduate applicants.
March 1 If you are auditioning for a RESSOM talent-based/performance scholarship, by March
1 you must have auditioned, applied to the U of M and submitted high school transcripts
and ACT or SAT results to the U of M.
March 15 Undergraduate RESSOM scholarship applicants begin receiving scholarship notification.
May 1 Last day that replies concerning RESSOM talent-based/performance scholarship offers
are due to the RESSOM.
June & July New Student Orientations. Incoming freshmen and transfer students attend university
orientation days. Music majors and music minors are advised by music faculty and register
for classes.
August Enrollment fees must be satisfied prior to the first day of classes to avoid assessment
of a late payment fee.
Late August Check into your dormitory.
End of August Auditions for placements in instrumental and vocal ensembles. See memphis.edu/music.
August 26 Start classes.
