Competition Registration

The competition will be held in Harris Concert Hall on April 5 at 9:00 a.m. (first round) and April 7 at 9:00 a.m. (finals). Awards are $750 for first place, $400 for second place and $250 for third place.  All competitors will receive two complimentary sets of Augustine strings, the finalists will receive a dozen sets and the first prize winner will receive 48 sets.

The festival's performing artists will judge the competition.

Competition participants must be registered for full 3-day festival. In addition, there is a $20 competition entry fee. Open to competitors of all ages who are not represented by major management and are not established concert or recording artists.

Payment for festival attendance and competition entry fee must be made online.

There is no age limit to enter the competition.

The competition is not open to guitarists who already have a professional career.

Required Pieces

First Round:

  • 10 minutes,free choice music
  • And one movement of a Bach Suite

Second Round:

  • 15 minutes, free choice music (no repetition of first round music)
  • And the set piece El Marabino by Antonio Lauro
