Responsibilities: Supervises and trains student assistants; processes newly received materials and
gifts; manages periodicals collection and bindery; serves as liaison to Circulation
Department for billing questions; provides reference and instructional assistance.
Facilities
The Music Library has listening and viewing stations equipped for playing CDs, LPs,
cassettes, VHS tapes, and DVDs. No copying is permitted with any of the equipment.
Most recordings circulate, with varying checkout guidelines for different classes of borrowers.
There are seven public PCs, all of which are equipped with Microsoft Office and have
complete catalog and Internet access. In addition, there are several other computer labs on campus, as well as the Learning Commons in nearby McWherter Library.
There is a self-service photocopier in the library, operated with cards rather than

The Music Library has equipment for reading and scanning microfilm and microfiche.
Work may be saved on a jump drive or the UM Drive for printing at McWherter Library or in one of the other computer labs on campus.
There are no public printers in the Music Library. Files may be saved on a jump drive,
emailed to a personal account, or saved on the UM Drive for printing at McWherter
Library or in one of the other computer labs on campus.
