Leaders Will Share Real Life Experiences With U of M Students

Business
leaders will teach morning classes and two individuals will
be honored during the 11th annual Alumni Day activities April
14 at the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at The
University of Memphis.
William
H. Watkins Jr., managing partner of Watkins Uiberall PLLC,
CPAs and financial advisors, will receive the college's Outstanding
Alumnus Award. Dr. Willard R. Sparks, CEO of Sparks Companies
Inc., will be named Friend of the College for his contributions
to the advancement of the University, especially the Fogelman
College.
In
addition, the University's Bureau of Business and Economic
Research will be named in honor of Sparks.
The
keynote speaker for the Alumni Day luncheon will be Vicki
Palmer, senior vice president and treasurer of Coca-Cola Enterprises
in Atlanta. A former Memphian, Palmer earned her MBA degree
from the Fogelman College in 1980.
The
luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Kemmons Wilson School
of Hospitality and Resort Management. Proceeds will support
scholarships at the Fogelman College.
Guest
professors for the classes will include executives from AutoZone,
Bank of Bartlett, Cannon Ivy, Coastal Securities, FedEx, First
Tennessee Bank, Methodist Healthcare, Morgan Stanley and WREG-TV.
All speakers are alumni of the Fogelman College.
Alumni
Day is sponsored by the Fogelman College of Business and Economics
chapter of the U of M Alumni Association. Corporate sponsors
are Coca-Cola Enterprises, the U of M Bureau of Business &
Economic Research, Monguinn Enterprises, Watkins Uiberall
