Named to Healthcare Accreditation Committee

Dr.
Cyril F. Chang, professor of economics at the University of
Memphis, has been named to the network committee of the Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
The
standing professional and technical advisory committee provides
advice to JCAHO about potential new and revised standards
and survey procedures for its accreditation programs.
JCAHO
evaluates and accredits nearly 17,000 health care organizations
and programs nationwide, including 9,000 hospitals and home
care agencies and 8,000 organizations that provide long-term
care, assisted living, behavioral health care, and laboratory
and ambulatory services.
Chang
also is a voluntary professor of economics in the department
of preventive medicine at the University of Tennessee Health
Science Center College of Medicine.
