Chucalissa Will Hold Spring Powwow May 2-4
For release: Apr. 29, 2003

Chucalissa Museum's Fourth Annual Spring Powwow will be held Friday, May 2 - Sunday, May 4. There will be special performances and activities for school children on Friday from 9am until 2pm. The Grand Entrance - the ceremonial blessing of the arena and entrance of the dancers - will take place at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and at noon on Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Powwow is a Native American celebration: a place to meet old friends and make new ones, to dance to the beat of the drums and to pass down traditional knowledge to a new generation. But you don't have to be Native American to enjoy a Powwow - everyone is welcome to come, watch, eat, visit and learn.

Make plans to be a part of the Spring Powwow. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children, group rates available. Call 785-3160 for information and group reservations.
