Professor to Lecture on Rushdie Book April 16 at U of M

On
Friday, April 16, Frederick Evans will present a lecture entitled
"The Multi-Voiced Society: Philosophical Nuances on Salmon
Rushdie's Midnight's Children" at 4 p.m. in 200
Mitchell Hall. Frederick Evans is a professor in the Department
of Philosophy at Duquesne University and the author of Psychology
and Nihilism: A Genealogical Critique of the Computational
Model of Mind. Professor Evans has also published articles
on contemporary continental philosophy, political philosophy,
the philosophy of psychology, and the philosophy of technology.
He is currently working on a new book, The Multi-Voiced
Body: Society, Communication and the Age of Diversity.
The
lecture is sponsored by the University Honors Program, in
conjunction with the Marcus W. Orr Center for the Humanities.
The
lecture is free and open to the public.
