1-2 Workshop at the U of M Will Study Memory in Consciousness

The
Institute for Intelligent Systems at the University of Memphis
will sponsor a workshop May 1-2 at the FedEx Institute of
Technology to explore the role of memory in consciousness.
There is no fee to attend, but registration and acceptance
are required.
Keynote
speakers will include Harry P. Bahrick, research professor
of psychology at Ohio Wesleyan University; Martin Conway of
the University of Durham; Morris Moscovitch of the University
of Toronto; and Lokendra Shastri of the International Computer
Science Institute at the University of California, Berkeley.
Topics
will include IDA, a "thinking" software system developed
to manage and negotiate new assignments for Navy personnel,
and a cognitive neuroscience perspective on memory and consciousness.
