|Four U of M Departments Honored for Outstanding Quality of Work

Four University of Memphis departments have swept the 2006 Greater Memphis Association for Quality Awards. The awards will be presented at a luncheon May 2 at the Holiday Inn on Central Avenue.
U of M Campus Recreation and Intramural Services and Parking Services will be recognized with Level I Awards for beginning the process of understanding and applying principles of excellence. Mail Services and the Department of Public Safety will receive Level II Awards for demonstrating serious commitment to excellence and an effective process for continuing improvement.
GMAQ is a non-profit organization established to promote quality awareness and recognize quality excellence. Members come from all facets of the community, including manufacturing, service, small business, non-profit, healthcare, and education. The association is based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Program that promotes performance excellence through an assessment process using the Baldrige criteria.For more information, contact Harriet Browning at 901-377-9401.
