Professor Named Fellow of Optical Engineering Society

Khan M. Iftekharuddin, an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Memphis Herff College of Engineering, has been named a Fellow of the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE). He was among 33 SPIE members recognized at the society's annual meeting in July.

Iftekharuddin was recognized for achievements in the areas of optoelectronic computing, optical information processing, and digital and optical pattern recognition.

SPIE is a not-for-profit society that serves the international technical community as the premier provider of education, information and resources covering optics, photonics, and imaging.
