|U of M Will Offer Scholarship in Information Assurance

The University of Memphis, a Center for Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE/IAE), will offer a new scholarship in information assurance beginning in 2007-08. Funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, the scholarship will cover full tuition, related books, required fees, and a yearly stipend of $15,000 for graduate students and $10,000 for undergraduates.
The scholarship will be available to full-time U of M juniors, seniors, and graduate students who meet eligibility requirements. Recipients must be majoring in a field associated with computer and network security and its management, including biometrics, engineering, computer science or computer programming, computer support, data base administration, computer systems analysis, operations research, information security, and business management or administration.
After completing a degree, recipients must be willing to work for the U.S. Department of Defense for one calendar year for each year of financial support received.
