Prometric Center Now Offers Computer-Based Testing

The University of Memphis, in conjunction with Prometric, has opened a new testing center. The University of Memphis Prometric Center, located in Brister Hall, Room 111-C, will offer computer-based testing for graduate school admissions and professional licensure and certification in the academic, government, and corporate markets.

Prometric administers professional certification and licensure tests for such organizations as the American Association of Medical Colleges, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (formerly the National Association of Securities Dealers), the National Board of Medical Examiners, the Tennessee Department of Commerce, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

For U of M students, the U of M Prometric Testing Center will offer many of the Educational Testing Service’s standardized exams, including the GRE, Praxis and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam.

“Prometric is committed to providing test candidates with consistently reliable and positive testing experiences in every center,” said Marc Van Hasselt, vice president of Channel Operations for the Americas. “We welcome the University of Memphis to the Prometric network and are looking forward to helping it achieve great success.”
